Report: Major Asian Anime Event kicks off in Singapore #AFASG25

SINGAPORE, Nov 26, 2025―The Southeast Asia’s largest Japanese pop-culture event, AFA Singapore 2025, opened today and will run for three days at the Suntec Singapore Convention & Exhibition Centre.

The event, which began in 2008 in countries such as Indonesia and Malaysia under the banner of Anime Festival Asia (AFA), has its Singapore edition every November. It brings a wide array of pop-culture content — anime, manga, games, music, cosplay — directly from Japan to fans across Southeast Asia.

At the main exhibition hall, major anime-industry companies such as TOHO animation, Crunchyroll (streaming service), and KADOKAWA have set up booths, while figure and merchandise makers like Kotobukiya are also exhibiting.

In addition, there are numerous circle-run sales and cosplay-photography sessions throughout the venue, drawing lively crowds along with merchandising activities.

Alongside the exhibits, a variety of stage events will be held. On the 28th, the concert stage “I Love Anisong” will feature the Japanese idol group Sakurazaka46.

In the following days, popular anisong artists such as fhána, Shota Aoi, Yoko Takahashi, and ClariS — as well as the group Wednesday Campanella — are scheduled to perform.

Moreover, on the “Day Stage” program, well-known Japanese voice actors —Kana Ichinose and Chiaki Kobayashi from Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End, Akari Kito from Chibi Godzilla’s Revenge, Shinba Tsuchiya from Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX, and Kana Ichinose and Sayumi Suzushiro from The Apothecary Diaries — are lined up to appear. This promises an event bustling with both anime and music fans.
